The captivating pink lake is not a trick of the light. this lake is 10 times saltier than the ocean and it is the perfect breeding ground for the salt loving micro-algae Dunaliella salina. This organism produce pigment compounds that absorb light making water purple.

Flying fish




Flying fish are some of the most amazing organisms in the ocean. Flying fish have a very unique defence mechanism for escaping predators. They have found that the best way to avoid other fish in the water is to get out of the water. As their name suggests, flying fish can actually leap out of the water and fly short distances

The Fly Orchid, or Ophrys insectifera, not only has a blossom that looks like an insect to attract pollinators but it actually emits pheromones  (a kind of chemical substances) that mimic female insects, to trick male digger wasps into spreading its pollen.
